Art Antwerp 2024

Galerie La Forest Divonne is delighted to be taking part in the 4th edition of Art Antwerp, the Antwerp International Contemporary Art Fair, which will be held from 12 to 15 December 2024. For this new edition, Galerie La Forest Divonne presents four artists, two sculptors and two painters.

The sculptors are both Flemish: Gerard Kuijpers, from Machelen, with his famous “Dancing Stones”, heavy rocks defying gravity, that seem to float like clouds and dance like feathers, on thin metal bars. A hint to Belgian Surrealism, and an invitation to challenge our beliefs and connect with the energy of stones. On the other hand, Tinka Pittoors, from Antwerp, works with fragile ceramics, that express her world of fantasy combining plants and animailty in her unique extravagant and baroque atmosphere.

On the walls, Guy de Malherbe‘s fascination for rocks and their ambiguous shapes and shadows, draws a line between Kuijpers and Pittoors’ worlds, where animals, organic and minerals combine. On a more abstract direction, Jeff Kowatch‘s famous floating shapes, echo both Kuijpers’ floating rocks, and Pittoors’ facinating colors.
