Alexandre Hollan, Recent Works

05 Nov 2026 - 09 Jan 2027
Solo show

This autumn, Galerie La Forest Divonne will present a major exhibition by Alexandre Hollan, whose name has been closely associated with the gallery since 1994.

The exhibition will feature previously unseen works, created mainly during the summer of 2026, in the heat of Gignac in the south of France. It will bring together two subjects that have become emblematic of this Hungarian-born artist, who has lived in France since 1956.

For more than fifty years, Alexandre Hollan has developed a profound and deeply personal body of work that he calls his “Research”. It is a quest for the invisible vibration of trees and natural elements: pushing the limits of the “visible” in order to reach the true nature of what he observes. This major body of work is built around two motifs that he has returned to tirelessly: the “tree” and still lifes, which he calls Vies silencieuses.
