Fairs

For its fifth participation in the BRAFA Art Fair, Galerie La Forest Divonne brings together six artists: three painters, two sculptors, and one designer.

In painting, visitors will discover works by the French artist Guy de Malherbe, whose powerful, vividly coloured canvases explore mineral landscapes, positioned somewhere between figuration and abstraction. Also featured is fellow French painter Ronan Barrot, whose work offers a contemporary interpretation of the great genres of painting, from portraiture to landscape and vanitas. Completing this selection is the American artist Jeff Kowatch, a master of colour and abstraction, well known to Belgian audiences for his hypnotic paintings.

As for sculpture, two mediums will be presented. First, ceramics by the French artist Valérie Delarue, who explores the technique through organic and baroque forms. Then, woodwork by the talented Christian Renonciat, who plays with perception by evoking in wood the tactile qualities of paper or cardboard.

Finally, several works by the Belgian designer Gerard Kuijpers will also be on view. A stone sculptor, Kuijpers creates functional sculptures in which the delicacy of marble enters into dialogue with the strength of steel.
