Arbes, mille fois dans l’arbre

Alexandre Hollan’s exhibition at the gallery La Forest Divonne – Brussels – presents the diversity of approaches of the tree, from large figurative canvases to tree signs, which sometimes hold only a single line, in which they are entirely concentrated. From the very colorful acrylics to the most subtle, almost erased charcoals, which only let the pattern be perceived by the slight vibration that remains on the surface of the paper. Alexander Hollan went a thousand times in the tree to abolish the consciousness of the action of painting, to affirm one day: “I am what I see”.
