“La Couleur du temps”

From 8 January to 21 February 2026, as part of the PhotoBrussels Festival, Galerie La Forest Divonne presents “La Couleur du temps”, an exhibition of photographs by Jean-Bernard Métais, who is also a sculptor and winemaker.

Since 1976, the year he took over the family vineyard, Métais has been developing a singular photographic practice: each year, he tirelessly photographs the bottom of his wine vats, to the exclusion of any other subject. Always following the same protocol. Capturing the evolution of the wine at different stages of its transformation. In 1989, he began archiving these images under the title “Les Accouchements de l’être vin”. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of this unique photographic endeavour, we will present previously unseen prints, recent photographs, and historical works that have become essential to this body of work.

Opening on Thursday, 8 January 2026, from 5 pm to 9 pm, in the presence of the artist
